The Lady Comets fell to the Coalers in Tuesday night’s volleyball match in the Coaler gym 16-25, 19-25. The team was only able to put up 2 aces and 4 kills for the night. Defensively, the team put up 26 digs but the Coalers were just too much for the Comets. The Fresh/Soph team also fell short to the Coalers but was able to steal the second game from them with the scores of 18-25, 25-18, 19-25. The team had a combined 7 aces and 12 kills along with 32 digs.

During her high school career, Maggie was involved in National Honor Society, world language club, volleyball, honor roll, student council, safe school ambassadors, FCCLA, and Yearbook. She was also a student of the month, an Illinois State Scholar, a class officer, a writing center tutor, and was both All-Area and All-Conference in volleyball.Comet Community LeadersThe senior spotlight winner for the month of February is Gianna Pinto. Gianna is the daughter of Rosanna Romano-Baker and Vince Baker. During her high school career, Gianna was a member of the girls soccer team and the RC Chatter. She was a boys soccer manager, A homework depot tutor, student of the month and ACE winner.The students’ choice for “Teacher of the Month” in February was Mrs. Dennis.
