Defense was the Key


The Varsity Lady Comets were ready to play Thursday night against Herscher winning 25-19, 25- 19. Defense was key in the win with libero Georgia Votta having 16 digs and 2 aces and Kassidy Barr having 10 digs and 3 kills. The team had a combined 10 blocks against Herscher also. Leading offensively was junior Madelyn Alton who had 7 kills and added 7 more digs, along with 2 aces.

“We knew we wanted to end the week on a high note. Everyone was a factor in tonight’s win and it felt great!”

The JV team for Reed-Custer lost in two, 22-25, 20-25 against Herscher. JV played really well with Brandy Ridgley having 3 kills, 1 ace, and a solo block and Maggie Meyr with 4 kills.

RC’s Freshmen team also lost in two 8-25, 16- 25. Kaylee Thompson had 3 kills and Stephanie McGregor added another 2. The Lady Comets will travel to Wilmington on Tuesday. Come support the teams with JV and Freshman playing at 5:30 and Varsity at 6:30.
