The R-C Comet track teams traveled to cold, rainy, and windy Manteno Friday night and turned in tremendous performances. The boys finished 2nd out of their 11 team field which included 5 AA and AAA teams. The girls got 3rd place out of their 10 team field, finishing just 2 points out of 2nd place. The Comets had 26 personal records on the night. Emma Johnson set a new PR by winning the shot put with a throw of 33’08. Maddie Christensen lowered her 800 time with a 2:34.95 timing and Morgan Zacharias bettered her 200 time with a fine 26.92. Zach Weaver soared 6’0 in the high jump and ran a splendid 52.28 for 2nd place in the 400. Christian Martinez bettered his old mark with a throw of 35’06 in the shot put. B.J. Bailey had a huge night with personal best times of 22.21 in the 200 and 52.50 in the 400. Vinnie Vercelote set a fast PR of 42.76 in the 300 hurdles and both Jordan Neu and Shane Milburn lowered their 800 times with 2:07.99 and 2:07.27, respectively. Dave Cronin bettered his 1600 time with a 5:08.42. The Comets return to competition next Friday at the Herscher Invitational and the freshmen and sophomores compete Tuesday in the Frosh-Soph I-8 Tournament. Come out and watch this successful group of Comets continue to break their individual records!

Luke is the son of Robert and Erin Boseo. during his high school career, Luke was involved in basketball, the RC Chatter, and National Honor Society. He was also a mentor for an RCMS student, a student of the month, and was the videographer for football, basketball, and volleyball games.Congratulations to Destanie Nacey, Macy Pfiefer and Lily Kilpatrick on being selected to the I-8 All-Conference Team at the 2019 I-8 Conference Tournament held at Sandwich HS on January 16, 2019. The team earned second place.Antionette Hill is named to the All-Tournament Team in the Lisle Holiday Cage Classic.The five students that represented RCHS at the Joliet Junior College Area High School Art Exhibition this fall were recognized at the board meeting on December 19, 2018. Tami Sarnowski (acrylic paint on guitar), Madison Tiangco (ceramic and fused glass), Jacob Lambert (color pencil drawing), Joshua Neu (mixed media sculpture) and Calla Kmetz (black & white digital photograph).
